A Few Steps Back: From Bob Ross to Iran

Many of us know the American painter Bob Ross, and remember him with affection. His paintings, his voice, the way he handled color and brush were so beautiful, and he taught with such ease and love, that painting looked simple.
He would say that a painter sometimes needs to step back and look at the picture from a distance, to take in the wonders around it.
We Iranians, too, sometimes need to step back and look around. But this time what we see is not wonder or beauty. It is a sea of blood on our own soil.
For days we have been talking about Syria, its prisons, and its crimes. We should take a few steps back and look at what has happened to us, to our Iran, our young people, and all we had.

Long live Iran.
