My Iran… Without you today, I feel like a weary old man sitting in a boat stranded patiently on the dry bed of a river… He knows that free-flowing water once ran here. He knows both banks were green. He sits on the earth, unable to go back or paddle forward. But one day the skies over this land will bring rain too… The riverbed will fill with water, and… To reach freedom, we won’t even need to row… This generous river is Iran, dignified in its monarchy. Long live the Shah.
