I was walking with my daughter in the park when something caught my eye. I looked at her small, delicate hand… “Sweetheart, make a fist,” I said. She did, then said, “Dad, you make one too.” I held my fist beside hers. “Dad, my fist is so tiny… and weak. But yours is so big and strong.” I opened my hand, wrapped it firmly around her fist, and asked, “What about now?” “Oh! I feel like the strongest girl in the world.” Laughing, she said, “Dad, look how big our fist is now!” I told her, “On our own, our fists might be small or weak. But when we come together and make them one, we become the strongest people in the world.” My fellow Iranian, my friend, a piece of my own flesh: give me your hand. Let us make our fists one and break this dark demon. Long live Iran. Long live the Shah.
