Let this be a keepsake for tomorrow’s Iranians… Hello, Lady Sun. How are you? Lady Sun, I know that when I am gone, you will still be here. I know that whatever we have done to your child, the earth, and to this soil, you will go on warming it. Lady Sun, I ask one thing of you. Tomorrow, when my generation and I are gone, if we are gone and our Iran is still not free, tell whoever remains that the grief they feel today, their sigh at my absence, is their own regret for failing to stand with us yesterday, when we were all here and they chose not to be. They chose to turn the green world of our dreams into the gray of their ordinary days. What use are their anguish and regret now? But if we have freed our Iran and are no longer here, tell them… Tell the generations after us that we stood together and did our national duty. Now it is their turn to rebuild these ruins and protect our soil, our flag, and our king. Long live the Shah.
