Our People Are Our Greatest National Treasure
Translated from the original Persian post. Images, if present, are from that post or thread.

Over the years we have spoken again and again of the human and environmental disasters caused by the Islamic Republic, and nothing changed.
We have talked and wept over what has happened to our farmland, wetlands, and lakes, and nothing changed. We have talked about vast corruption and the loss of oil wealth and other national resources, and still nothing.
But do you know what I see as the greatest blow to Iran? As Reza Shah the Great and Shahanshah Aryamehr said in their own ways, our most precious resource is our people, especially our children and our brightest minds. So many were driven out of Iran; others remain there, trapped and disheartened.
Today I was reading about Professor Maryam Mirzakhani and Dr. Roya Beheshti Zavareh. Their names belong in the history of accomplished women. In my view, both were compelled to make their lives beyond Iran. How many more people like them have we had, and do we still have? What will happen to them if we fail to save our country?
For Iran's tomorrow and for its people, let us join hands, free our country, and build a new Iran from what seems like nothing.
I dedicate these words to Maryam, Roya, and all the women of my Iran.
