One day Agha Bozorg told me: “If you have a friend, then when your heart trembles, there’s someone beside you to calm it. “If you have a friend, then when you’re hurting and call, they say, ‘When? Where should I be?’” “Agha Bozorg,” I asked, “you were quite a man about town when you were young, or so you say. Tell me something. What does it mean to have a shah?” “If you have a shah, your heart feels so secure it doesn’t tremble in the first place. “If you have a shah, there’s no pain, no poverty, no sighing over your troubles that you’d have to pour out to a friend. “It means living with dignity and owing no one a favor.” “Agha Bozorg, I want a shah.” “So do I. Iran wants its shah back.” Long live Iran. Long live the Shah forever. We stand with the Shah.
